Safes

Maple Leaf Locksmith is a proud dues paying member of Savta and X10 approved and happy to assist with maintenance and repair of safe locks new and old.

I stock a number of different models of safe locks both electronic and mechanical from different manufacturers including La Gard, Amsec, Q Systems, Sargent & Greenleaf.

Safe Lockouts Solved

Many who call are simply locked out of their safe. You should know that being locked out of your safe in most situations does not require destruction of your safe. Do not let a “locksmith” cut a giant hole in your safe or turn it into swiss cheese. Many less expensive safes have a key override. I have many techniques for opening these and more expensive safes that doesn’t require drilling your safe. Even if drilling your safe is required it is usually done with a small hole which allows repair of the safe and worst case requires replacement of the lock. Higher quality safes use locks with a standardized form factor that allows relatively easy replacement of the lock.

Get Your Safe Opened with Minimal Damage

The advantage of paying me to unlock your safe is that the safe can be returned to service or sold to somebody else. If you call a “top rated” locksmith off of Google Guaranteed chances are you will get somebody who wants to cut a hole in your safe with a Sawzall which means the safe will have to be scrapped. This is bad because you cannot take a safe to the dump. The Seattle garbage dump refuses safes, even if they don’t have fire retardant. This is probably because they are worried about asbestos but they have a blanket ban on disposal. So you saved $100 on the safe opening but now you have a huge heavy paperweight that you can’t get rid of!

Cost is dependent on pictures sent to my phone number. After identification of the safe and the problem it has and the desired outcome, total cost will be sent back by text message.

Changing Combinations, Reprogramming, Servicing Difficult to Use Safes

Did you have to fire an employee who knows how to open your safe? Maybe it is really hard to open your safe? If you have some other issue with your safe like a combination change request or maybe you want to install an electronic lock in a safe, it is totally possible. Again, send pictures by text or email of the safe including the model number and manufacturer if available. There are usually tags located somewhere in the corner of the face of the safe or on the side.

Safe Installation

Amsec frequently asks me to install safes for their customers and this can be done for you too. Normally this is done with Redhead concrete bolts but can also be done with large lagbolts in settings with wood floors. I am happy to install safes and move them to installation location depending on weight and how many stairs there are to contend with. I may need to do a site survey to make certain that it is feasible if location involves stairs or a floor not supported by concrete.

Safe Sales

If you need a safe at your location you probably value what you are going to put in it. Don’t go and buy a cheap safe from Harbor Freight before finding out about how reliable that safe is in a fire or a burglary attempt. Many safes sold at big box stores will have an electronics failure that will end up costing you money for first opening the safe and then fixing or disposing of the safe. Inexpensive safes can often also be pried open because of cheap materials and thinner metal used. There are frequently bypasses for such safes seen on Youtube which negates the entire point of buying and using a safe! Avoid the headaches and get something that will last and give you decades of trouble-free service. First you need to determine what kind of safe you want. The constraints are how much room you need inside the safe and whether you are more concerned with fire or burlgary. There are safes that can resist both but they are more expensive and have much smaller amounts of storage available inside them compared to the amount of room they take up.

Maple Leaf Locksmith can service and repair safe locks.  I can also replace safe locks with new versions that have all of the programmable bells and whistles like lockout times, lockout after a specified number of unlock attempts, audit trail, multiple user codes, etc. I have techniques and equipment for opening many safes without damage allowing the customer to continue using the safe in many cases. If you need help with a safe the fastest way to get it done is to send pictures of the safe including the model and serial number and a picture of the whole safe to my email or text to my phone number along with approximate location and a short description of what’s needed is all I need to tell you when I can do it and how much it will cost.
