When people extend a deadbolt and then shut the door it mars the doorframe. It also may bend the bolt, making it nearly impossible to use with key or thumbturn. This is for entertainment value only, but I was able to bend this bolt straight with a pair of pliers. You should call a locksmith and never attempt something this dangerous, especially not with anybody else home and without protective equipment such as hardhat, safety glasses, respirator, two condoms and also make sure to tie off to your couch.
